Well worth the drive. You get to try all different flavors of cheese which was a delicious time for my taste buds and omg the prices they ask for the cheese is close to half as much as the big stores so get the directions and get going cause you wont be disappointed
The first thing to remember after the amiable Amish greeter gives you your shopping cart is that E&S Sales won't run out of bargains. As you pass the shelves loaded with an incredible array of neatly labeled sacks of cereals, spices, snacks, flavorings, mixes, dried fruits and vegetables and many things you never knew you needed it's tempting to fill your cart as though you might never be able to find this treasure store again. The candy aisle alone is better stocked than many stores which specialize in sweets, while the baking supplies far exceed what even the finest bakeries might keep on hand and the assortment of nuts and dehydrated fruits and vegetables rivals the largest health food stores.
While the products -- and low prices -- are what bring you to E&S Sales, the serious but friendly atmosphere will keep you from rushing through your shopping. From the Amish selecting their weekly supplies to the genuine antiques on display throughout the store, the feeling is one of a different, more sensible time. This feeling is enhanced by some of the more obscure products available for sale, including tonics and salves which hearken back to your Grandmother's time.
Despite the vast number of products offered in twist-tied sacks, and the large number of customers who visit E&S Sales every day they're open, the store is uncrowded, neat and remarkably clean, and the staff is helpful and exceptionally polite. After you've filled your cart, and then very likely gone back and made a second tour of the store for things you saw but didn't choose on the first pass, your purchases will be efficiently rung up by an intelligent clerk -- no bar codes here! -- and bagged for your convenience, and unless you decline a young Amish gentleman will carry your bags to the spacious parking lot (separate parking for cars and horse-drawn vehicles) and assist you in loading them, cheerfully thanking you when you leave.
If you're like us, you'll respond honestly that you'll be back.
